Laser cleaning machine operation precautions

Jan 02, 2024

The laser cleaning machines in the equipment produced by Legent-laser are Class 4 laser products. Because of its unique properties that may pose safety risks, it cannot be considered an ordinary light source. Anyone operating or approaching laser cleaning equipment must be fully aware of these potential safety hazards. To ensure safe operation and optimal performance of the equipment, we strongly recommend that you read this instruction manual in detail and strictly abide by all safety warnings and tips before using and debugging the equipment.

Please check whether the circuit of the laser cleaning equipment is connected properly before turning it on, otherwise it is prohibited to turn it on.

  • When the equipment is not working, the laser cleaning head should be placed at the designated position in the machine. After the laser cleaning equipment is powered on, it is prohibited to point the laser output head in the direction of someone, and it is strictly prohibited to aim the laser output port at people's eyes, bodies, or any non-target processing objects to avoid any harm.
  • When the laser cleaning equipment is working, avoid irradiating the laser beam on smooth and highly reflective materials (such as mirrors, copper, aluminum, stainless steel and other highly reflective materials that are as smooth and reflective as mirrors) to avoid damage to the eyes and skin by the laser reflected light. .
  • It is forbidden to use the laser cleaning equipment with the light outlet and the surface of the processed object at a 90-degree angle during operation to prevent the laser beam from damaging the lens, light source components, etc. of the equipment after being reflected along the original path, affecting the service life of the machine.
  • Laser cleaning equipment operators should take all safety precautions when operating the machine. Connect the ground wire, make sure to wear a full set of protective equipment such as laser goggles, dust masks, gloves, etc., and perform cleaning operations on the insulating pad.
  • It is strictly prohibited to arbitrarily modify the safety protection devices. All workers near the laser beam must wear laser protective glasses that meet the regulations. Do not look directly at the laser output head. Do not look directly at the laser to avoid eye damage.
  • If the machine is not used for a long time, you should turn it on for 5-10 minutes before use to check whether the machine is working normally. It is best to power on the machine once a month as required. When it is not working for a long time, be sure to cut off the external power supply.
  • If you encounter an emergency situation such as abnormal sound or smell of the equipment during operation, please press the emergency stop switch to cut off the power supply immediately and stop the machine for inspection. It is strictly prohibited to repair and disassemble machine parts while the machine is working or powered on.
  • If you need to open the machine for maintenance, be sure to shut down the machine and unplug the power cord for more than 5 minutes, and then open it after the high voltage in the machine drops to zero. Live maintenance is harmful to the human body and electrical equipment.
  • If the equipment resumes operation after the inspection is correct, you can turn it slightly in the direction indicated by the arrow on the emergency stop switch to pop up the emergency stop switch.
  • If the laser cleaning machine is not shut down properly, it will be in an alarm state the next time it is turned on, which will affect the service life of the laser. Before starting up, be sure to check whether the button switches of each function of the laser are reset.
  • During the operation, maintenance and service of laser cleaning equipment, in order to ensure the safety of operators and users, please do not disassemble the equipment without our company's permission.
  • During the transportation, use and storage of laser cleaning equipment, it is strictly forbidden to pull, hit or excessively bend the corrugated tube (the bending radius cannot be less than 150mm) to avoid damage to the optical fiber connecting lines in the tube. The specific parts are shown in the figure below.

Note: Broken and damaged fiber optic cables are not covered by the warranty.
